Spiritual One-Liners: Moroni 10:4-5

As we conclude our exploration of spiritual one-liners, at least for a time, I am drawn to Moroni’s ultimate promise: “By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things” (Moroni 10:5). This verse perfectly captures why these concise scriptural truths matter – they invite personal revelation.

Over these past weeks, we’ve examined verses about pressing forwardputting on God’s armor, and walking by faith. Each one-liner opened windows into deeper gospel understanding. But their real power comes not from my interpretations, but from the personal insights you receive as you ponder them with real intent.

As I begin teaching Foundations of the Restoration this week, I’m struck by how Joseph Smith’s journey began with a simple verse that pierced his heart (James 1:5). One spiritual one-liner changed not just his life, but the course of religious history.

I testify that scripture’s power lies not in quantity but in quality of engagement. Whether it’s a single verse or an entire volume, what matters is inviting the Holy Ghost to transform written words into personal revelation. May we each find the specific verses that speak to our souls and, like Joseph Smith, act on the truths they reveal.
